More Than a Fundraiser
As one of just five charity partners selected to be part of the festival’s 15th anniversary celebrations, we had the opportunity to raise awareness of our work while giving adults with learning disabilities and autism the chance to be actively involved in one of the Fylde Coast’s biggest events.
Throughout the evening, the people we support volunteered alongside staff, trustees and supporters, welcoming festivalgoers. They shared their stories and helped spread the message of inclusion to thousands of visitors enjoying performances from Scissor Sisters and Pet Shop Boys
For those involved, the evening was about much more than fundraising.
Volunteering at the festival provided an opportunity to develop new skills, meet new people and gain confidence in a busy and exciting environment. It was a chance to contribute, represent One Fylde and show what is possible when people are given the opportunity and encouragement to thrive within their communities.
An Amazing Amount Raised and an Even Greater Impact
The evening raised an incredible £3,651, with donations helping us continue to create opportunities for the people we support.
From employment and volunteering opportunities to social enterprises, creative projects and community activities, fundraising plays an important role in helping people build independence, confidence and well-being while pursuing their goals and ambitions.
While the fundraising total was a fantastic achievement, the greatest success of the evening could not be measured in pounds alone. It could be seen in the confidence of someone introducing themselves to a stranger, the pride of wearing a One Fylde volunteer T-shirt, the friendships strengthened throughout the evening and the many conversations that helped challenge perceptions and celebrate inclusion.
Memories to Last a Lifetime

“Lytham Festival gave the people we support a platform to be seen, heard and celebrated. Watching confidence grow throughout the evening was incredibly moving. People shared their stories and showed thousands of festival-goers exactly what inclusion looks like. The money we raised is fantastic, but the confidence built, the awareness created and the memories made will have a lasting impact long after the final song was played.”
We would like to thank Lytham Festival for providing such an incredible opportunity, as well as the volunteers, supporters and local businesses whose generosity helped make the evening possible. A special thank you also goes to the thousands of festival-goers who stopped to chat, donated and took the time to learn more about what we do.
Every conversation, donation and act of kindness helps create a future where people with learning disabilities and autism are recognised for their abilities, valued within their communities and empowered to live their best lives.
