The Awards
The event brought together inspirational organisations and individuals dedicated to creating positive change in their communities. The evening proved to be a fantastic success for One Fylde, which was shortlisted as a finalist in four categories and awarded Highly Commended in the Collaboration & Partnerships Award.
Being recognised by Selnet highlights the strength and innovation of our work and reinforces the importance of social enterprises in delivering real, lasting change. Awarded Highly Commended for the Collaboration & Partnerships Award; a standout example of the organisation’s collaborative work as its partnership with Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust at The Harbour mental health hospital.
Through the “Harbour Takeover”, One Fylde’s inclusive radio station Tune Ability brings broadcasting into a clinical setting. Patients engage with music, storytelling and creative expression, helping build confidence, communication and emotional wellbeing. For some participants, this has created life-changing breakthroughs in communication and self-expression.
Collaboration extends into the community through partnerships with Lancashire County Council and the Department for Work and Pensions at their community café, Heart of the HUB, Fleetwood; delivering accessible health, wellbeing and employment support within welcoming community spaces.
Finalists Across Three Other Categories
🏆Community Impact Award – We were recognised for the collective impact of our social enterprises, including the transformation of the unused NHS building into the welcoming Heart of the HUB community cafe. Our cafe provides real hospitality experience while acting as a hub for connection and support.
Alongside this, Tune Ability empowers presenters to host their own shows, while gardening and recycling enterprises offer practical, meaningful roles that strengthen communities and promote sustainability.
🏆Leadership in Social Enterprise – Hannah Fletcher, Enterprise Business Manager at One Fylde was shortlisted for her inspiring leadership and vision in developing One Fylde’s growing enterprise portfolio. Her people-centred approach has created opportunities across hospitality, broadcasting, recycling, gardening and creative projects, helping individuals thrive and grow in confidence.
🏆New Social Enterprise Award – Also our award winning inclusive radio station; Tune Ability, was recognised for using accessible technology to open broadcasting to everyone. With tools such as text-to-speech and flexible recording workflows, presenters can create professional radio at their own pace, building confidence, communication skills and independence.
It was a night of pride and inspiration as representatives from One Fylde; including both staff and people supported by the charity attended the ceremony, joining a room filled with passionate organisations committed to doing good in their communities.
The recognition from Selnet highlights the growing influence and importance of social enterprises in transforming lives. For One Fylde, the evening celebrated not only achievement, but the collective passion and dedication that drives its mission every day.
